Chartered Financial Analyst Research Challenge

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis and professional ethics. Each student will be tested on their analytical, valuation, report writing, and presentation skills. They gain real-world experience as they assume the role of a research analyst.

Bloomberg Trading Challenge

Through this competition, teams of 3-5 students (led by a faculty advisor) will compete against other top students around the world to experience firsthand what real-world investing looks and feels like. Teams will use the Terminal to define market assumptions, develop a return-generating strategy, and execute trades within a closed network. The winning team will have the highest time weighted relative return, relative to the Bloomberg World Large, Mid & Small Cap Price Return Index (WLS Index). GAME Global Portfolio Competition

The Global Portfolio Competition and Poster Session provides students with the opportunity to present real, managed investment portfolios and compare their performance with other individuals, teams, and universities. Students compete across a range of categories and winners are announced live during the second day of GAME Forum.

Community Bank Case Study Competition (Washington, DC)

Through study of a local community bank, students will engage in an experiential learning opportunity that will allow them to network with local banks, CSBS staff and academics. Students will have an incredible opportunity to gain valuable, first-hand knowledge of the banking industry, and, if selected as winner, will be invited to present their work in front of federal and state regulators, academics and community bankers at the Community Banking Research Conference.

Southeastern Hedge Fund Competition

The Southeastern Hedge fund Competition offers participants the opportunity to apply theory to practical strategies. Student teams submit hedge fund strategy proposals that are evaluated by a panel of investment professionals. The top five teams will be invited to Atlanta for the final competition in April.
