Jason Snyder

Jason Snyder is a Professor of Quantitative Analysis of Markets and Organizations and of Entrepreneurship and Strategy at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. He was previously an Assistant Professor of Strategy at UCLA Anderson and a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Northwestern’s Pritzker School of Law and Kellogg School of Management.

His research uses historical and empirical methods to study firm strategy, organizational ethics, and the long-run effects of institutions, including work on the persistent effects of the African slave trade on firm ownership and access to finance. His work has appeared in journals including Management Science, the Journal of Political Economy, the Review of Financial Studies, and the Academy of Management Journal.

Professor Snyder holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Applied Mathematics & Economics from UC Berkeley, and a Master of Legal Studies from Northwestern University.
